Jayhawk Area Agency on Aging, Inc. is a nonprofit agency that advocates on aging issues, builds community partnerships and implements programs within Shawnee, Jefferson and Douglas counties to help seniors live independent lives. Jayhawk Area Agency on Aging is funded under the Older Americans Act, through the Administration on Aging, the Kansas Dept on Aging and local units of governments as well as donations. JAAA is 501(C)3 non-profit organization. JAAA does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, sex, national origin, age, religion, or disability.

Meetings: Seniors who are residents of Douglas, Jefferson and Shawnee Counties who may need a little help to remain independent, are urged to call Jayhawk Area Agency on Aging, Inc. to see if they qualify for Senior Care Act Funds. The Senior Care Act program provides a coordinated system of service to Kansans 60 or older. This program is especially targeted for those who are at the greatest risk of institutionalization. The Kansas Department on Aging administers the program through the Area Agencies on Aging.

Eligibility Guidelines-Must meet SCA Income eligibility guidelines and meet the SCA long-term care threshold.
