Information on Lawrence River City Lions Club

Update this information

Lions motto is "We Serve." We work in local communities to serve unmet needs, primarily focusing on sight-related issues. Among our recent activities in Lawrence:

- provide eyeglasses and other adaptive aids for low income individuals,

- highway cleanup,

- offer free vision, blood and hearing tests at Douglas County Fair,

- transport donated eye tissue to the KU Med Center for Midwest Eye Bank,

- serve Martin Luther King day free lunch (around 120 people) at LINK,

- assist in funding Audio-Reader Network, Kansas Lions Mobile Screening Unit, Kansas Specialty Dog Service, Babcock Place glasses clinic, and KU Med Center Eye Clinic (which provides low- or no-cost surgery and emergency care).
