Information on Lawrence Kenpo Karate and Self Defense Club

Update this information

The club provides an organization to learn and practice traditional Okinawan Kenpo Karate and related arts.

In addition to the usual physical benefits of an exercise program, the practice of these arts develops the participant's mental awareness and focus.

As implied by the club name, a main focus of this club is to develop the ability of the members to defend against physical assault.

The club (formerly the KU Kempo Karate and Self Defense Club) has been in Lawrence since 1982; the current instructors started in the club in 1987.
