The Lawrence Humane Sociey is a registered not for profit organization founded in 1951 to foster the humane treatment of and enlighten attitudes toward animals. The Ise Memorial animal shelter, managed by Lawrence Humane Sociey, is ethically responsible for thoughtful kind treatment of all animals who need our care.

We need to behave with compassion and impartiality toward all species regardless of breed status. Lawrence Humane Society emphazizes the importance of public safety and health.

Lawrence Humane Society provides the following services to the community: Lost and Found, Adoptions, 24hr Emergency Rescue, Community Eduacation and Humane Sheltering for over 5,000 homeless, abandoned and neglected animals for the city of Lawrence and Dougles County.
