The Friends of the Black Jack Battlefield is a non-profit organization working to preserve for posterity the site of the Battle of Black Jack, June 2, 1856; the first battle of the Civil War. The Battlefield is approximately three miles east of Baldwin City, Kansas along and south of Highway 56.
