Information on Family and Community Education

Update this information

FCE can fulfil social, cultural, and intellectual needs. Making new friends and participating in learning programs and community service activities lead to enjoyment and increased self-esteem. Douglas County Family and Community Education (FCE) units, formerly called Extension Homemaker Units, are a group of volunteer educators. Belonging to an FCE offers its members opportunities for friendship, learning and leadership. Members learn current information on a wide variety of topics about home, families and communities. Each unit establishes its educational program based on what members want to learn. Members particpate in planning and presenting educational programs. Lessons and trainings may be selected from K-State Research and Extension in Douglas County or other sources.
