Information on Centennial Neighborhood Association

Update this information

CNA was founded in 1993 by citizens concerned with quality of life issues in our neighborhood area. On behalf of a dues-paying membership of about 90 households, we work on such issues as stormwater management, preservation of trees and open green spaces, traffic calming on Louisiana Street, single-family residential zoning, landlord registration of rental units, nuisance houses, and relationships with our neighborhood schools (Centennial Elementary and Lawrence High School) as well as KU. Our annual pot-luck meeting is usually held in February. We also organize traditional social events throughout the year such as Christmas luminaries, kite flying, garden exchanges, garage sales, picnics or potlucks, and pumpkin picking. Anyone living in our neighborhood is invited to get involved and participate in any civic and social activities.
