Update this information

Lawrence Breakfast Optimist Club is a local affiliate of Optimists, International, an international organization dedicated to youth. Locally, the club brings together women and men interested in hands on opportunities to work with area youth. Lawrence Breakfast Optimist Club is an active business partner with East Heights Elementary School. In that capacity, club members participate in reading and mentoring programs, sponsor Kid's Night Out, provide resources for a book buying program, have breakfast with students, etc. The club also annually sponsors Halloween Paint-In with Lawrence Parks and Recreation; Optimist Oratorical Contest, Optimist Essay Contest and Junior Golf Tournaments.

In addition to providing hands on opportunities to work with youth, the Optimists conduct two fundraisers: Christmas Tree Sales, Pancake Breakfast, that provide revenue for local youth organizations including: Boys and Girls Club, Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, Lawrence Amateur Baseball, Project Graduation, etc. Visitors are always welcome at weekly meetings.
